SECRETed Final Video

Over the course of the project, the SECRETed consortium brought together leading researchers, industry partners, and innovation experts with a common goal: to unlock the potential of marine microorganisms as sustainable sources of high-value bioactive compounds. Through innovative biotechnological approaches, the project focused on the discovery, production, and application of biosurfactants and siderophores, natural compounds with significant potential across a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, environmental remediation, cosmetics, and industrial processes.

The project successfully advanced the understanding of marine microbial resources and developed new strategies for the sustainable production of these valuable compounds. By combining cutting-edge research with industrial perspectives, SECRETed contributed to the development of greener alternatives to conventional chemical products, supporting Europe’s transition towards a more sustainable and bio-based economy.
