DAY 1: 25 January 2024, Verona (Italy)
The 5th General Assembly of SECRETed took place in the beautiful city of Verona (Italy) on 25-26 January 2024. All consortium members gathered at Hotel Leon D’Oro, including the coordinator (IDENER) and the leaders of each work package. Following presentations of their most recent accomplishments, all partners synchronized concerning the next course of action.
Day 1 of the meeting passed with vivid discussions about the progress and next steps of WP2–Microbial collections screening, WP9–Dissemination and Exploitation, WP3–Databases integration and Industry-driven designs, WP4–Metabolic engineering and WP6–Piloting activities.
The day continued with a relaxing and interesting tour of Verona city followed by a dinner at the traditional Restaurant Taverna di Via Stella.
Day 2: 26 January 2024, Verona (Italy)
The 2nd day of the GA meeting, the consortium presented results related to WP5–Lab-scale fermentation and chemical characterization of compounds, WP7–End user’s needs, WP8–Sustainability assessments and WP10/WP1–Management and coordination.
Currently, the 48-month-long SECRETED project is in the second half (M32) of the project life time and has already identified promising producing strains, compounds and related Biosynthesis Gene Clusters, as well as a robust biosurfactant and siderophore database.
